Doimukh JNV celebrates annual school week
ITANAGAR, Aug 13: Like the previous year, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Doimukh in Papum Pare district has been celebrating its Vidyalaya Week in a befitting manner from August 12. This would be followed by celebration of 8th Vidyalaya Foundation Day on August 18.

NEDWS organizes mega tree plantation
ITANAGAR, Aug 13: The North East Development Welfare Society (NEDWS) has organized a mega tree plantation cum social service at forest park and circuit house campus of Daporijo recently.
Addressing the occasion as chief guest, Daporijo ASM Lome Sindak called upon the people to create mass awareness on environment, plant trees and stop deforestation for preservation of environment and maintenance of ecological balance. He further lauded the NEDWS for its role in preservation of environment.

The SHG has taken up Mushroom Cultivation as one of their main income generation activity. The success of their Mushroom Cultivation has inspired many other SHGs under Khagam CD Block, Miao.
The members of the SHG have been imparting mushroom cultivation training to the SHGs of other villagers as resource persons.
The AMYAA (NGO) aims at nurturing this SHG to make a model SHG in Changlang district.

ITANAGAR, Aug 13: Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is running a project, namely, “Capacity development for forest management and training of personnel” across India.
The Arunachal Pradesh Forest Training Institute, Roing would get a facelift with rehabilitation package envisaged for improvement in infrastructure sector of the institute under the JICA project, informed APFTI, Roing Director Nani Sha today.

International Youth Day observed across state
ITANAGAR, Aug 13: International Youth Day was observed with various activities all over the state yesterday.
Attending the musical nite and prize distribution ceremony organized to mark the day here yesterday, Thangwang Wangham, Parliamentary Secretary (H&FW) said that the youth are the future of the nation. He called on the youth to use their energy and potentiality to contribute meaningfully for the society and the nation. Unfortunately many youths today are without direction and guidance and International Youth Day is a day to engage youth meaningfully and provide them direction and guidance so that they can contribute in the nation building, Wangham added.
Earlier in the morning Dr. K. Nishing, Director Health Services while inaugurating T20 cricket tournament at NERIST, Nirjuli, said that IYD is an opportunity to disseminate message on HIV/AIDS. It may not be possible that everyone will carry the message forward. But if at least some people who are sincere shall definitely carry the message forward, he added. He also repented that many of the youths in our state are in the misadventure of their life which prove costly for themselves later in the life. He urged the youth to refine themselves before it become too late.

Centenary Special Komeng Dai Art Competition held
PASIGHAT, Aug 13: Paying tributes to the legendary Artist/Painter Lt. Komeng Dai, the Literary Committee of Central Solung Festival Celebration Committee, 2011 organized a Centenary Special Children Painting Competition today at the Solung Hall Pasighat.
The budding artists in three categories (Minor, Junior and Senior) drew pictures of Goddess Kiine Nane, God Doying Bote and Adi houses in the competition.
More than 200 students from various schools of Pasighat participated in the competition to show their creativity.
